We’ve got a jam-packed series of post-Trans-March festivities to present to you! Transgression is our response to a world that refuses to let trans people celebrate, in their own way: it’s a celebration of our resistance, our resilience, and our talents.
Join us directly after the March, or find us near Place Charles-de Gaulle, near the corner of Plessis / Sherbrooke streets!
The show
From the end of the Trans March until around 8:30 p.m., we’ll be hosting a variety of activities in Parc Lafontaine. First, between 5 and 6 p.m., there’ll be an open mic open to all members of the community, hosted by Heart Dandy! Afterwards, the show proper, hosted by Gus Jémus, will begin. Here’s what’s on the agenda:
Musicians
Comedians
The French portions of the show will be interpreted into Quebec Sign Language for those who need it! Unfortunately, as we were unable to find an ASL interpreter, English performances will not be interpreted.
Trans Makers Market
Trans artisans and makers will be on hand at the end of the march! You’ll find them near the site of the Transgression show. As well, a number of community organizations will be setting up booths offering their services. Between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.!
A harm reduction booth, as well as a booth for gender gear (e.g. chest binders), will be present.
Legal clinic
A legal clinic, covering the fields of civil law, employment law, housing law and family law will be present after the Trans March. Led by specially trained lawyers, this service will offer 15-30 minute legal consultations for trans people, their parents and loved ones. In addition, Trans ID and criminal record check services will equally be offered then.
